Waterline Coaching creates space for reflection, clarity, and grounded action for individuals, professionals, and leaders navigating change, transition, ADHD, and personal growth. Coaching supports those who are ready to pause, listen inward, and explore what lies beneath the surface.
Whether you are leading others, deepening your understanding of yourself, integrating meaningful experiences, or learning to move through life with greater ease through conscious breath therapy, coaching provides an opportunity to slow down, make sense of your experiences, and intentionally choose your next step.
In honour of your highest potential.
Waterline is grounded in a deep curiosity about people, relationships, and what helps us thrive.
The waterline marks the place where what is visible meets what lies beneath the surface.
At Waterline Coaching, we believe meaningful growth often begins when we slow down long enough to explore what is happening beneath the surface of our thoughts, behaviours, relationships, and experiences. Through reflection, conversation, and intentional practice, we gain greater clarity about who we are, what matters most, and how we want to move forward.
Waterline Coaching was created to provide space for reflection, growth, and meaningful change. We believe people are inherently capable, resourceful, and worthy of understanding, support, and connection. Rather than focusing on what needs to be fixed, we are interested in what becomes possible when people better understand themselves, their strengths, their challenges, and the choices available to them.
While Waterline is currently led by founder Christie Courtland, our vision extends beyond a single coach. Over time, Waterline will continue to evolve through collaboration, community, and opportunities to support individuals and leaders in ways that align with our values of integrity, compassion, courage, learning, and connection.

Hi, I'm Christie Courtland, founder of Waterline Coaching.
Throughout my career, I have worked with leaders, teams, and organizations navigating change, growth, and complexity. My background includes leadership development, organizational change, change management, psychological safety, organizational learning, and executive coaching, but at the heart of my work is a deep curiosity about people, relationships, and what helps us thrive.
I believe that people are inherently capable and resourceful, and that they are doing the best they can with the knowledge, awareness, and resources available to them at a given moment. Too often, we move through life carrying expectations, responsibilities, and stories about who we should be, leaving little space to reflect on who we are and what we truly need. Coaching creates an opportunity to slow down, listen deeply, and reconnect with what matters most.
My coaching style is calm, curious, and relational. I am less interested in quick fixes and more interested in helping people develop a deeper understanding of themselves, their relationships, their patterns, and the choices available to them. Whether we are exploring leadership challenges, career transitions, identity, confidence, self-advocacy, or personal growth, I strive to create a space where people feel safe enough to be honest, challenged enough to grow, and supported enough to move forward.
Greater self-awareness creates opportunities for growth, choice, and possibility. When we take time to better understand ourselves, we are often able to move forward with more clarity, confidence, and intention.
I have a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent professionals and leaders, including those navigating ADHD, identity, executive functioning, and the often-complex process of understanding themselves in new ways. My work in this area is informed by both professional experience and ongoing graduate research exploring how executive coaching can better support women with late-diagnosed ADHD in professional and leadership roles.
The values that guide my work are integrity, compassion, courage, curiosity, learning, and connection. I believe people are best able to grow when they feel seen, understood, and empowered to define success in ways that align with their own values rather than someone else's expectations.
My interests also extend beyond coaching alone. I am drawn to practices that support presence, reflection, and self-awareness, including breath therapy, somatic awareness, and time in nature. Whether through coaching, conversation, conscious breath, or time spent outdoors, the intention remains the same: to create space for people to slow down, listen deeply, and reconnect with themselves.
Alongside my coaching practice, I bring more than 20 years of experience supporting leaders, teams, and organizations through leadership development, organizational change, learning, and change management. Supporting people as they navigate uncertainty, complexity, and transition has deepened my appreciation for the importance of self-awareness, meaningful relationships, and creating environments where people can learn, adapt, and thrive.
I hold an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential through the International Coaching Federation, a Master of Business Administration (MBA), and I am currently completing a Master of Arts in Executive and Organizational Coaching.
It is an honour to walk alongside people as they navigate change and transition, deepen their understanding of themselves, and move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and intention.

For leaders and professionals who want to lead with greater self-awareness, clarity, and confidence. Coaching can support leadership development, communication, decision-making, psychological safety, navigating complexity, and building stronger relationships. Together, we explore what it means to lead in ways that are both effective and aligned with your values.
For professionals and leaders exploring ADHD, late diagnosis, executive functioning, identity, masking, self-advocacy, and success on their own terms. This work is not about fixing who you are. It is about understanding yourself more fully, recognizing your strengths, and building ways of working and living that fit who you are.
For people making sense of meaningful, challenging, emotional, spiritual, or transformational experiences. Integration coaching provides a space to reflect, deepen understanding, and bring new insights into everyday life in ways that feel grounded, practical, and sustainable.
Alongside coaching, I am exploring ways to incorporate conscious breath therapy and nature-based experiences into Waterline. I have seen the power of slowing down, becoming present, and creating space to listen more deeply to ourselves. Through conscious breath, reflection, and time in nature, these experiences are intended to support greater self-awareness, clarity, and connection. These offerings are still evolving and will continue to develop over time.
At Waterline, we believe coaching is a collaborative conversation that creates space for reflection, growth, and meaningful action. Rather than providing advice or telling you what to do, coaching helps you explore your own thinking, clarify what matters most, and move forward with greater self-awareness, confidence, and intention.
I work with leaders, professionals, and individuals who are navigating growth, change, transition, or greater self-understanding. Many clients are exploring leadership, career development, confidence, relationships, neurodivergence, identity, or life transitions.
Not at all. Some people come to coaching with a clear objective, while others simply know that something feels ready to shift. We can begin wherever you are.
Every coaching conversation is different, but each one is thoughtful, collaborative, and grounded in curiosity. Together, we create space to explore your experiences, perspectives, challenges, and aspirations in ways that support greater clarity, self-awareness, and intentional action.
No. Coaching and therapy are different professions, each serving an important purpose. Therapy often focuses on understanding and healing past experiences, while coaching is primarily forward-looking. At Waterline, coaching is about increasing self-awareness, clarifying what matters most, and supporting you as you move toward meaningful goals and intentional change. Coaching is not a substitute for therapy, counselling, or mental health treatment.
I primarily work virtually, allowing clients to connect from wherever they are. In-person coaching may also be available depending on location and circumstances.
At Waterline, breath therapy is an evolving part of our vision. It is a guided breathing practice that creates space to slow down, become more present, and reconnect with yourself.
Many people find that conscious breath supports greater self-awareness, nervous system regulation, resilience, and a deeper connection between mind and body. Like coaching, it is not about fixing ourselves. It is about creating space to listen more deeply and respond with greater awareness and intention.
I have a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent professionals and leaders, including those navigating ADHD, executive functioning, identity, and late diagnosis.
I am currently completing a Master of Arts in Executive and Organizational Coaching, and my graduate research explores how coaching can better support women with late-diagnosed ADHD in professional and leadership roles. My work is grounded in executive and organizational coaching, informed by a neurodiversity-affirming perspective, and shaped by both research and professional practice.
Whether or not someone has a formal diagnosis, my approach focuses on understanding individual strengths, increasing self-awareness, and creating strategies that align with the way each person thinks, works, and leads.
The best way to find out is to start with a conversation. If something about Waterline resonates with you, I invite you to reach out. There is no obligation, only an opportunity to connect, ask questions, and explore whether we are the right fit.
